Perfumer weighing fragrance oils in a studio

Since 2019

A small house,obsessive about drydown

Karter began in a two-room studio with a single conviction: most fragrances are designed to impress in the first ten minutes and forgotten by the second hour. We compose in the opposite direction — building from the base upward, so what remains at hour six is the part you were meant to notice.

01 — Sourcing

Assam oud, Grasse jasmine absolute, Calabrian bergamot, Somali frankincense. Bought in small lots, never blended down.

02 — Composition

Every formula is built and rebuilt across dozens of trials until the drydown holds for eight hours on skin.

03 — Maceration

Finished concentrate rests in amber glass for a minimum of eight weeks so the notes marry properly.

04 — Bottling

Poured, capped and labelled by hand in batches of twelve. Each bottle carries its batch number.
